Paul

Paul

Paul Peachey, Artrageous’ International Award Winning Tattoo Artist, would agree that the aim has to be to do the best work possible every time. Being a Tattoo Artist is not just a profession, it is a lifestyle – at the end of the day to have integrity, you cannot ever slack off in an artistic field or you risk stagnation.

He is in constant contact with tattooing-compatriots exposing himself to new techniques, new stylistic variation and has been heard to say “there isn’t anything that can’t be done better in the future”.

Coming from genetically artistic stock, Paul has traveled from London to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Spain and has gained maximum exposure to a huge range of different styles and technique.

Drawn to the Pacific, sometimes seen as the cradle of modern tattoo, Paul has set up ‘Artrageous’ with a strong view of what tattooing should be – and the results are pieces of art that are truly stunning. In a short space of time, many tattoo virgins have been de-flowered, but don’t take our word for it! Go and check them out for yourself....

Paul is currently working at Art' n Soul (Whangerei), Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Appointments can be made directly to Art'n'Soul phone (09) 438-4002. Paul is also in Auckland at Artrageous the last 3 days of each month, Thurs 11am - Sat 2pm, appointments necessary.

Pip

Pip

Pip has been tattooing since 1999, and has been managing Artrageous since 2009. Her main tattoo influences and creative inspirations come from Maori Ta Moko Polynesian Tatau and the natural flora and fauna of N.Z/ Aoteroa.

Universal symbols and other ethnic patterns can also be recognised in her work.
Preferring to work with black ink, Pip likes to make designs with the customers input to create original artworks.

Pip will be working a full day Thursdays and Saturdays and on Fridays from 5pm - 7pm by appointment only.

Rene

Rene

Rene has been tattooing for more than 15 years. His style lies in the parameters of "The Dark Side of Life" and "70's Psychodelia". Within these borders there is a strong influence from classic horror and H.R. Giger.

His speciality is black and grey tattooing, however he can tattoo any style he believes will make a strong, long lasting, excellent tattoo.

Rene enjoys a challenge and strives to make the client happy with good choices and a clean original tattoo.

Rene also does the body piercing at Artrageous.

Corey

Corey

Corey has been the apprentice at Artrageous since late 2012. He is a prolific artist and enjoys developing tattoo ideas from all sorts of influences. Custom design is his specialty focusing on bold lines and strong colours.

Currently most of Corey’s work is inspired by American Traditional ‘old school’ tattoo and Japanese Tattoo design.

Corey also paints and has a variety of prints available for sale at the studio.

Aftercare

Congratulations, you are now one of the beautiful people! Now take good care of it!

The Bandage
Your new tattoo is covered up because it is still an open wound, so keep it covered for at least 2 hours.

The First Wash
Use only lukewarm water and mild soap (antibacterial or antimicrobial soap are good). Gently wash away any ointment and blood to completely clean the area, use your clean hands, don’t use facecloths or anything abrasive. Pat it dry with a clean towel or a paper towel (recommended), do not rub! Once it is dry follow up with a light application of antibacterial cream or ointment. If you are unsure what is best to use, ask your artist. Whatever lotion you use it should be dye and fragrance free.

Bathing, Showering, Hot Tubs, and Swimming
You can shower with your new tattoo and yes it can get wet, don't let it soak, do not submerge the tattoo for at least 3 weeks. Swimming of all types should be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks.

Scabbing and Peeling
After a few days, there will be some peeling and possibly a little scabbing. Do not pick the scabs, leave them alone and they will come off on their own. There will also be itching, similar to sunburn, if it itches, then slap it and if it peels, apply more lotion.

Sun Protection
Protect your tattoo from the sun, it will fade if you don’t take care of it. When you are outside slap on some strong sunblock, this will help keep your colours rich for years to come.
