The Artists

Paul Peachy

Paul PeachyPaul Peachey, Artrageous’ International Award Winning Tattoo Artist, would agree that the aim has to be to do the best work possible every time.  Being a Tattoo Artist is not just a profession, it is a lifestyle – at the end of the day to have integrity, you cannot ever slack off in an artistic field or you risk stagnation.

He is in constant contact with tattooing-compatriots exposing himself to new techniques, new stylistic variation and has been heard to say “there isn’t anything that can’t be done better in the future” .

Coming from genetically artistic stock, Paul has traveled from London to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Spain and has gained maximum exposure to a huge range of different styles and technique.

A dragon may not be the dragon a customer wants – it seems a rose is not a rose, is not a rose – Paul has years of accumulated drawings – and someone always comes in looking for exactly the thing he has drawn – no matter how bizarre.

The modern European-style studio is a little different from what you might expect – sterile stainless steel benches and large polished mirrors, contrasting with brightly coloured walls and art.

Come in and take a load off, and check out the design books, we offer a relaxed, alive and uncluttered space that is open yet as private as you need.

Drawn to the Pacific, sometimes seen as the cradle of modern tattoo, Paul has set up ‘Artrageous’ with a strong view of what tattooing should be – and the results are pieces of art that are truly stunning.  In a short space of time, many tattoo virgins have been de-flowered, but don’t take our word for it!  Go and check them out for yourself…….

Paul is currently working at Art' n Soul (Whangerei), Tues, Wed and Fridays, and is in Auckland at Artrageous the last 3 days of each month, Thurs 11am  - Sat 2pm, appointments necessary.

Pip Russell

Pip RussellPip has been tattooing since 2000. She has been taught and guided over the years by some of Aotearoa's top Ta Moko and Tattoo artists. Prior to tattooing she designed and manufactured a tattoo clothing label called 'Natti Tat'. The label sold extensively overseas and won couple fashion design awards back in the 90s.

Natti Tat led Pip to making permanent patterns for people’s bodies. Pips strong interest in indigenous arts and ancient symbolism has been fed by her extensive travels, and is reflected in her custom style of design.

Over the years she has collected a lot of books and imagery to share with clients to help develop and encourage original tattoos. Talking and working with the client to develop a unique and perfect tattoo is what she enjoys most.

Pip also travels to Switzerland every couple of years to guest artist at 'Corazon Tattoo'.

ReneeRenee

Renee is now the proud mother of little Indi-Lee, born in October. Renee will still be coming down to Auckland to guest artist but not as often as we thought. Renee now works 1 weekend every 2 months. Appointments necessary so please contact the shop for specific dates.
